am i right in thinking that the long S shape pipe near the bottom of the rad has something to do with the power steering?

and

could any one tell me what the solenoids in the rats nest do when a current is applied in the sense they are all open/closed until the current is applied/removed? are they all the same?

The loop is a powersteering fluid cooler, and iirc correclt some of the solenoids are different.

there are only the 2 types of solenoid, 2 post and 3 post. all the 3 post are interchangable.
