If you have the foot to the floor its like hitting a brick wall all of a sudden..

No petrol getting to the engine... Very bad!!

@ Interloper : Id say its for people with aftermarket pumps only... Mines way smaller than standard and doesnt sit very well in the tank...

Heres the item i was on about... Will be gettin one for mine soon enough...

will have a look on the FEED website, thanks

Just suprised someone would install afuel pump with no sock. Put a stoc sock on and you will be fine.

I have the bnr33 fuel pump, and a sock. Often run mine down to the light coming on. Haven\'t had any issues with mine.

karl_tate

hmm, sounds i may just need a sock then but surely this cannot be causing the issues??

where could i get a "sock" from??

cheers

guys

A sock isnt going to help....the problem you have is drawing air when the car goes round a bend and the fuel goes to one side!  A sock should be fitted to act as a basic filter, although most are about 90microns so will only stop rocks!

yeh realise its the air getting sucked up, may be my pump is not sitting right in the tank if others dont have problems??

it mainly does it when im giving it beans and usually happens around 4-5k when full boost is reached

I have driven many fd\'s hard with the skyline pump and none suffer the issue you have. The only difference between yours and the one\'s I have installed and driven is that it has been installed properly where the pump sits at the right height, and they have a sock fitted.

is that with single turbo and 1650 secondaries as well?? if so seems i need to do some work with it which is good cause it wont have to spend much this time lol :D

what is the best angle for it to be installed at??

I had exactly this problem ever since Reworx fitted a Bosche 040 pump along with bigger primary injectors to my car. I experimented with the height but this made no difference whatsoever. Their solution at the time was to fit a swirl pot and another lift pump. Unfortunately, shortly after this one of my tips went and I needed a rebuild. It is at Carl\'s at the moment for mapping, and on his advise have changed the pump to an 044 as he thinks this may help alot with this problem. It will be interesting to see if it does. I will be finding out shortly!

im going down the fuel tank foam route,i have a freind helping i\'ll post up the pictures when ive finished ,i didnt want a swirl pot for smell and saftey reasons

AtomicRex

Foam will only prevent slosh

make sure you select the correct foam for the grade of fuel

but it isn\'t going to solve the problem alone....sorry

you need to get a collector to sit inside the tank as well
