Got a bracket (I think it\'s made by cusco) on my front bumper which mounts the plate offset to one side, abit like the evo location.  It\'s quite good as it doesnt block much of the oil cooler duct and hardly blocks any of the radiator duct.  I have 330mm x 150mm plate, so still legal too.

dont really no the guy in the civic, kinda know the guy who owns unique automotive, didnt no the guy in the corsa at all!

cusco you say....shall hav a look into that.

so mant options, this is where my problem is!!

what would suit my car best then ;)

This might help you decide where to put it the plate as jap cars are allowed smaller sized plates.

yep..... jap cars are allowed smaller plates "as long as there is no obvious position for the Std UK size plate!" Minimum text hight is 64mm 10mm thick stroke, with a minimum of a 10mm reflective around each letter.

Have you tried a signwriting firm? You can get magnetic "paper", quite often seen on minicab doors etc. You could get a plate made up, stick it to the front edge of your bonnet and take it off for shows.

Just a thought anyway, not sure if it would work.

Might work better if the bonnet weren\'t made of aluminium! (or FRP or carbon, lol, anything but steel) Not renowned for their magnetic properties!

Get a normal Jap size plate and stick it behind your windscreen mate, Can\'t ruin the lines of that beast!

yeah magnets dont hold too good on frp.....which most of my car is made of!

yeah been done once when it was on my window as well....police round these parts are pretty ghey! and im fed up getting fines that could be money towardsd the car or petrol, so looking for a fix here....really dont want to put it on though!

Hinges for mine. Attached to the top of the intercooler opening in the front.
Drops down at low speeds and swings back at higher speeds, so less restriction to air flow.

hammy

where did you get the hinges from C J R?

C J R

Two cheap brass hinges from B&Q. I cannot remember the name, but they were designed for general furnature- cabinet use. One half of each hinge was bent to suit a 25mm thick conti board type door and the other half was a conventional flat plate with three holes.

I flattened the bent side of the hinge (it also has three holes pre drilled in).
I found that the now flattened long side of the hinge extended sufficient to pick up on the mounting hole in the shortened number plate.

I only used one hole in each hinge to attach to the bumper.
A little WD40 every now and then to keep the hinge lubricated as they are really designed for indoors.

Mines hanging off the sun visor in the windscreen lol. I\'ll get a pic, its only a temp measure until I get some brackets made but it keeps the front of the car looking clean

Mine sits on the dash behind the windscreen, never been pulled but had some filthy looks from the feds... Still, MOT is next month so we shall see what happens.... :O
