Hi mate, looks gooood..
just finished spraying a rear bumper on these Microcab hydrogen car things (www.microcab.co.uk) myself. Noticed you said you use 1200 on one post then 2000 grit to colour sand the paint? We only had 800 the other day so I used that then spend about 20 min on each area polishing scratch marks out the b**tard thing!

Also interested to see you\'re using Farecla products too.. I was using G3 to polish the paint up, but after a few days of hardening the 2k was taking too long to polish. One trip down the local paint store and I had some G4 (\'especially for high solid colours\'), still not quite as effective as I\'d liked! So anyway ended up getting some G6 (allegedly the most abrasive) and still kinda slow.
I\'m used to polishing soft cellulose so water by itself is almost good enough for that!

Anyway its good to read your experiences, sounds like you have the same approach to spraying as me. I\'ve been adding a bit more thinners to my paint and upping the air pressure a bit and I\'m getting closer to the point where everything flows together nicely that I almost dont need to flat and polish it! (-except for the crappy extractor fan leaving it full of dust and crap!)

polishing is by far the worst part, u never get the shine back really once its sanded, im at the point now where i cn 2000grit sand it and it`s taking half the time it used to, but i dont get orange peel anymore and more a mirror shine, im self taught tho so im still learning lol
i use g3 but i think g6 is far better n quicker, at the end of the day its to remove the scratches so i also poorboys machine polish the car afterwards anywho, this also removes any fine scratches left lol but garunteed you`ll always see a mark u missed once its polished lol

Is poorboys machine polish similiar/equivalent to G10 or Farecla Machine Glaze?

interloper393

erm kinda, theres a few stages i use, its far less messy than g3 cus u dont use water, its just a cutting compound.. u start with a 2.5, then 2 then 1 then a final polish, best stuff u cn buy in my eyes bud..2.5 is for really badly mareked paintwork.
