Impressive. First time seeing one!

There was 2nd Gen "Turbo I" made, before the TurboII was put into production, though not designated as such.

It was a limited edition made in Japan, for evaluation, and was less powerful than the full production model we know as TurboII.

Grizzly

Just put it down to shelterd youth + I\'ve never been to Japan ;)

I\'m a bit confused by the Last reply though, there was a First gen mk1 - 3 then a second gen mk4 (that was badged up T2) was the T1 a production car or was it basicly the S4 renamed in japan? Becouse the S4 is less powerfull than the S5?

MMMM i think i\'m just a bit confused.

Hi all,
I am sure that this will become a lively debate before long, but... The only production turbo RX7 before the TII, was the first gen model available to Japan only. In the UK, some of the tuners designate the S4 as a "Turbo I". This is possibly to differenciate between the S4 and S5 for tuning purposes.

Grizzly, Hi.. The S4 was badged GT-R in Japan, whilst the S5 was badged as the GT-X.

Cheers,

John

what have i started

u started with good question but u got few different answers and have to study little bit on internet and other forums to find out which is true and which is just assumption of guys who never bother to find out...

regarding the TI and TII issue, i have recently taken my "so called TII" to Geff at portsmouth, basically just asked him the spec of my engine as it is just bizzare when i try to order parts and it turns out they are wrong??

how wrong can it be when my car says TII on the side and i ask for TII???

anyway, it turns out i have a TI(S4) block which runs lower compression enabling higher boost, but i have TII(S5) turbo, intercooler, wiring looms etc., all this has enabled me to run 5.5-low 5\'s 0-60 times, and with a top speed in excess of 155mph.

so, from this i have gathered that the S4 is a TI (as Geff says), and that the S5 is the TII,

how reliable all this is, i will let you decide for yourselves,

how wrong can it be when my car says TII on the side and i ask for TII??? and it turns out that many of the S4 (TI) parts are now non existent now!!!

Series 4 TII 182hp (lower compression, twin scroll manifold design, one wastegate)
Series 5 TII 200hp (higher compression, no twin scroll but bit better wastegate design)

It does not matter if some Geff calls it TI or T4, its still TII according to mazda and mazda being builder of car should be right.......

Guys, don`t be blind and try to learn bit more, there is tons of sources on internet u could compare and it will easy tell you what is truth and what is just bullshit....

:D

fc3sPAT

LOL, its just funny when not a single person is 100% sure and they come on and argue about a subject, (including me), :D

and hiGGi, dont come hear and call people blind and assuming everyone here is stupid and you know everything, cause i was just merely quoting what the guy told me, no offence to you, you probably know more then me, but just dont come here and seem to insult others knowledge!

Patrick,

hIGGI

i don`t insult anyone who does not deserve it :D

and i don`t argue about things i am not 100% sure about

after few years of active studying and WORKING on rotary\'s - specialy FC3S of few different markets (japan, european, us) i know what i am talking about - i feel sorry for you if explanation of really basic terms gets you insulted, but 10 ppl here in thread  not being sure does not mean we are talking some hard to prove scientific thing......we are talking TII (TurboII) term which is well known fact which u could easily find out and have it proven from official mazda websites as well from all fan sites and forums...there is really no discussion about this, its just repeating those facts for uneducated members :D

fc3sPAT

LOL, dont get me wrong, but if i felt insulted i would F@#in and flaming you by now! LOL :D  what i meant is just be careful with your wording,

anyways, i am here to learn more about my car, and like i said, just quoting what someone said, not what i believe in, for all i know is i have a mixture of S4 and S5 parts on my engine that is giving me good figures. i dont really care about TI or TII, just QUOTING!!!! so dont flame me for that!
