UIM Differences ??

Well, i\'ve just spent the whole weekend polishing a UIM for the Rex and came to change it over today and guess what, they are different !!!

Heres the photos:-

So just wondering if anyone can tell me what the bit in the circle in for cos it\'s not on the one i\'ve just polished....

For those that dont know my car is a UK car and the UIM i\'ve just polished is from an import.....

Any help appreciated as i can\'t now be bothered to go through another 12 hours odd of sanding and polishing, so if it\'s something i can get round then that would be great....

Is it the EGR gubbins on the UK one? did the UK ones have that?
My JDM \'94 deffo hasn\'t got it as i\'ve had the UIM off today

I dont know, but the black pipe you see coming off at the bottom right of the right hand picture goes to the inlet elbow near to the throttle body....

The best i can gether from the manual is it\'s the Idle Speed Control system.... Prevents afterburn and aids decelerationm but why dont the Jap cars have this ??

Ignor that, it\'s the Accelerated Warm System which i guess they didn\'t need in Japan due to the temperatures....

Guess i\'m gonna have to spend another 12 hours doing this on then.....

May be a polished UIM up for sale soon if anyone want then lol

Dont know yet mate to be honest, i\'m hoping there\'s a way around it first as i really can\'t be bothered to go through it all again lol...

It\'s not perfect but it\'s not too bad, i\'d just had enough by this stage lol and wanted to put it on the car

I\'m guessing no-one knows what will happen if i just fit the import one and leave the plug unplugged then

No! Never seen that bit of gubbins before. Nice job of polishing though, dude! I\'m half way through doing my second one (having sworn never again after the first, Doh!) so I can appreciate the work you\'ve put in and why you probably really don\'t want to have to start again. Bummer!

Lol there is no hole put that stuff in mate, it would mean i\'d have to drill and mill the UIM and thats just far too much work....

Have bitten the bullet and have started to sand the other one down now

So if you want it mate, i\'ll find out about postage and let you know a price yeah ?

Just ditch the AWS stuff dude

Loads of stuff on rx7club about it, as they often ditch it on the USDM ones

I should have realised earlier actually, cos the PFC doesn\'t actually support AWS so it weren\'t working anyway.... Oh well you live and learn dont you lol...

Will have 2 nicely polished UIM\'s tho
