Is there anything to be careful of or worth keeping in mind when replacing the clutch?  And roughly how long will it take for someone with a ramp and all the tools but not any experience with FD\'s?

Thanks

G@NDY

Ive had experience of 2 exedy clutches being fitted the wrong way round. so try and aviod that bro ;). Doing it slow time with a ramp maybe a couple of hours, possibly less.

Biggest thing is to remember to undo the pressure plate bolts through the inspection hole in the bell-housing as the clutch comes away with the gearbox unlike many conventional clutched vehicles,

Also I put a small piece of wood under the front of the sump because when the box comes out the engine falls forward, indeed I knew somebody who rebuilt 2 engines trying to loose the bad knock levels and vibration  before he found that when the engine fell forward it bent the front crank pulley,

Do a search and you will find that one of our members did a detailed "how to " a few months back

Hope this helps
All the best Clive

Was me mate... all in the tec info..... took me 2 days including taking pics!!

One thing I would say is if your pilot bairing is in desent condition..... don\'t replace it as it\'s a bitch to get out unless you have the right tool!
