Been out working on the car all day finished fitting v-Mount trying to find places to put AST(sorted) & Oil catch(Not sorted). Wired up the battery (only temporary until holder comes) going to fit it in the drivers side bin but just sat on top at the moment. Now the engine bay has been in pieces since january. There are still no I/C pipes plenium is not bolted down just sat in place, Had to cut pipes to get the apexi induction to fit so short on a couple of silicon couplers. So just ordered all new T-Bolts to replace all the worm drives a couple of silicon pipes, Elbows, ect. So me being me I put the key in the ignition and believe it or not after not being started in 4 1/2 months being in pieces for 4 months she started, Only had her ticking over for about 1 minute but the Nur spec sounds very sweet. So hopefully next weekend she should be ready. After nearly 18 months of owning & not driving her a little trip to Re Worx is iminent for a compression test & if all is ok a mapping session. I cant wait!!!! So hopefully i can get to meet a few of you at meets really soon.

Cheers Garith.

You\'ll be pleased to know that your fd will now be flooded, not good for water seals!. Once started from cold, you should let it run untill the auto choke cuts out.

Should be ok if its had a full minute and its in good health.

I thought that running her up to temperature with all the bits still missing from the engine bay would have caused more problems than just letting her tick over for a minute. Hopefully i should be able to sort most of it out tomorrow so will start her again and let her get up to temperature. Mainly so i can circulate the coolent around and make sure i have no air locks.

Well for the Doom & Gloom merchants LOL

She started on the button!!!!!  Let her tick over for quite a while, She sat at 79 degrees for quite a while the went to 80 just as i turned her off. Waiting for her to cool down now to see if i need to top up the coolent. When i first started her there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust which lasted all of 20 seconds then the smoke went a bluey grey colour which lasted for about 1 minute. After that no smoke apart from the occasional puff of bluey grey. So signs are good water seals are OK (unless anyone knows different). A Few questions!!!

1. When i started her she was ticking over at 1500 ish and when the revs droped she was at about 1050 ish. Can i adjust the idle or could it be doing that because the intercooler pipes are still off.

2. When i blip the throttle she hunts for a few seconds between 800 & 1300 ish then after a few secs she stablizes at 1100 then drops down to 1000 ish. As above could this be caused by not having intercooler pipes fitted?

3.After i turned her off i noticed a few oil spots on bits around the Y Pipe area. Not lots just dots here and there is it normal for there to be oil in the y-pipe?

Cheers Garith.
