I am just about to commence the process of replacing the shocks on my car

Does anyone have any recommendations for replacing the springs to stiffen and lowering the suspension?

There are several manufacturers out there but nothing beats a personal reccomendation from someone who has been there done that!

Christopher

On my last FB I had Tokico blues shocks and they were there a good all rounder. They weren’t ridiculously stiff on the road and made a big difference in grip and cornering speeds on the track. These I would recommend.

The springs I have were Pi springs and I would not recommend them. There lowered the car by about 25mm but they were just too soft for my likening.

Hope this helps.

Pete.

I am replacing the front with KYB gas shocks and the rear with spax adjustables at the moment but like you say the springing could be a problem!:3gears-rh

Brian, i have the Tokcio HP Blues too had no problems with them if i could choose again though i would go Illumina\'s
currently running super low king springs these i like and the lowest you can go before coilovers, but going coilover in the next couple of weeks

And if  I learned to read I would see that you are talking about shocks which I already have! I need only the springs, are these there too??

shaunwil

Which is why I asked. The springs wouldn\'t be any use to me. Its my daily driver and needs to get over speed bumps. Would only lower it a little bit.

We are stockists for the Nitron Shocks.

We are going to be running a suspension set up shop shorty, as we are about to purchase a set of scales and camber/castor gauges.

I don\'t recommend dropping the car too low, as you will drop below the roll centres and that will actually cause more roll, as well as giving bump steer.  Plus you wont be running on the full travel of the shocks, and probably be bouncing off the bump stops.

You wouldn\'t believe the difference getting the car set up correctly!!

Gary (pr1s0ner) has already agreed to take my springs (rears have only been on for 4 weeks! but i will let you know if it falls through.
i have bump steers (pics in my thread) to move the swing arm back to a stock postion and allow me to drop the car lower, TBH i had no problem with the super low king springs they gave me a good 40 - 50mm drop although you couldnt go anymore without coilovers and other mods
