Hey folks,

Does anyone know if Commanders are simply plug \'n\' play?

Cos i\'ve still got this intermittent off-load (so isn\'t knock warning as its when im shifting gear) heat light flicker which is starting to get right on my nipple-ends I want to have a quick check to see if its referring to anything else rather than just a busted sensor. Peter W has kindly agreed to let me have a borrow of his.

Assuming we have the same Apexi ECU (i\'m  \'93 plate, he\'s a \'95 if i remember correctly) can i just plug his commander into mine and use it to get readings etc?

Cheers in advance

I would assume so as the commander were originally an optional extra... As in you could buy the ecu and commander seperately.

I think they changed the model to 16bit from 1996 so you should be ok or anyone correct me if i\'m wrong....
\'92 UK RX7 FD
\'97 Kwak ZX6R currently at Stage 3
\'86 Honda CRM250R stroker
\'11 BMW 320d ED

Yup, all you have to do is make sure you match the right Comander to the right Power FC.  RMaj posted a chart on here a while ago with model numbers if its still here?

If his car is the same year then its easy, if not check the model numbers!

The age of the apexi ecu makes a difference too. If you have a apexi ecu for a 92-95 model when apexi first brought the pfc out it is different to the pfc you can get now. The list explains it. I can\'t remember if it is the same commander or not.
