anyone know the best place to get these?

They only last about 2yrs before they loose their charge. I\'ve upgraded to a PC1500 in the boot. Much bigger but don\'t have any flat battery issues.

Usually I reconmend knight batteries.co.uk seem to do good deals.

Im not sure the 1500 will fit in a bin compartment which is what Gase is trying to achieve.

[stupid question alert]
The PC680MJ has funky battery terminals.. how do you connect them to the RX7\'s pos/neg clamps?

You can get car type poles as an add on that screw in.

We are now stockists of the Odyssey batteries.

The popular battery is to use the RedTops....these however used to be an Odyssey battery with a name change, but now they have chosen to source from a Chinese company, and the technology they are using is slightly inferior making them heavier and they don\'t last as long.  That unit I can get shipped to your door for £103 inc VAT, the usual 5% discount applies to club members

There is also a bracket that can be purchased with this.  I will get a price to you for this

I had a PC680 and it began to smoke! After removing it the top has bulged slightly at the top and was quite warm, I take it the plates on the inside were damaged and its now useless. I want to buy another but I\'m worried the same could happen, is this just a rare case of the battery having a fault as the Alternator is all A1 condition.
Cheers

That is rare, how old is the battery?  Have you tried to charge it?  Or jump it??

I had exacltly the same problem, oddessy wouldn\'t replace it either so I had to buy another. one

They do say that it isn\'t covered under a direct short and the battery can get damaged by shorting.

I have a PC680 from Knight Batteries around 3 years old now and it\'s still going strong.

Thats good to hear its just a one off thing, I was worried it could be down to running them on FD\'s. I take it the alarm will drain it after around 4 days, and you need to drive the car a fair few miles to recharge it otherwise it won\'t rechage in time.

I suppose if you park the car in a garage you can just disconnect the battery so there is no drain.

Looks like I\'ll have to get another at 100 pounds! Anyone know if I can put my PC680 metal jacket on just a PC680 without the jacket, as it would save me a few pounds.
Cheers

My Clifford will easily drain it in 4 days and I do exactly that and disconnect the thing as the car is garaged. I figure if someone is determined enough to break into my garage and figure out where the battery is and then overcome the immobiliser and alarm then they deserve to steal it!
