i am looking at upgrading my turbo and am leaning towards a single conversion but not sure what is involved and what is affected by this change....

can any1 help me regarding what is needed, involved etc?

are there any kits that are recommended etc?

AtomicRex

We do a kit

What sort of horsepower are you looking for?

Best thing to do is give us a ring and we can chat it through with you

Mims

From totally standard you need the following parts:-

Apexi Power FC or similair
Uprated Injectors
Uprated Intercooler
Uprated Exhaust
Uprated FPR
Boost Controller
Probably a good time to get a rebuild

and a few other bits i probably forgot to mention

There are lots of different turbos and singles, dont dismiss uprated twins though. It all depends on budget and what you want use the car for.

Casanova21

hp wise.... im thinkin 400-500bhp would be nice lol!!

its going to be for weekend road use, and hopefully some track use as well in the future

budget wise i have no idea, jus trying to get a ball park and some recommended turbos really

BlitzBoy

From scratch without a rebuild budget for 5K
But if you are looking at 500bhp you need a ported motor so you will need a rebuild circa another 2.5-4k

I should know the answer to this :Giggle

Do I need to upgrade the FPR if I\'ve already got an uprated pump and 1250 secondaries ??

Wanted to tune to 80% of my current fuel setup and then swap to LPG. Can I do this with the stock fuel regulator and 1250 secondaries .

Thats very cheap!!

You would have to question the quality somewhat, and the size of the turbo.  I take it that its going for a basic T series turbo?

The T series is a very old series of turbo, I think its about 20-30 year old technology.  Far better to go for a GT turbo instead.  Far more efficiency.

Im talking about the hidden costs Ed as well

Apexi ECU approx £500
Fuel Pump           £150
Injectors and Fuel rail£350
FMIC Intercooler    Â£1000
Uprated Radiator £350
Downpipe and Uprated Exhaust £750
Uprated Ignition eg Twin Power £350
So we have nearly over £3000 in parts needed to support a Single turbo before adding the cost of the turbo kit itself, so if he goes for your kit Ed it be a total of £4300 or if he goes for Greddy or HKS kit it be a total of over £5k This is assuming he buys all new parts, you may trim 1k off if fitting used

No need to mate...i can get him a MP GT45, hks manifold and HKs wastegate for that sort of money...well would be around £1400 if it were the GT45!........the £1300 would be for a T64 or a T70.

you are right about the technology thing but as far as im concerned its horses for courses.......Many a fast acr in japan are running on "old" technology!!!!!!!.......RE-A cars run T series and i think they do just fine dont you:Laugh

As far as i\'m concerned a fast car is down to the engine and mapping.....some examples....Laeeq\'s old car medium street port...blitz turbo. k27....439rwhp and still climbing at 1.1 bar....Kash\'s car hit 350rwhp at 1 bar on a t04e!!!.........no need to mention who built and mapped these engines:rolleyes:

So your right....in some repects... quality is required!!!!

Don\'t forget a heavily uprated clutch, triple plate perhaps to hold that power, I hope you arn\'t thinking of driving this on the road though, there gets a point where a car has too much power for everyday driving, if you are wanting super duper power, lighten, clearance and balance your rotors :D 12k revs :D oh and you will have to upgrade the Apex seals to something like ceramic...those are a few grand a set lol

BlitzBoy

pah why not drive 400rwhp :D I love driving mine on the road lol
No need for ceramics on a street car, stock or the various different types of soft seals out there which wont make a mess of your engine if it does let go
