Need all four discs and pads replacing on an FD that we currently have, normally steer clear of ebay but come across these:

Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience/opinions of these brakes as the price is about as good as I think you can get for all four discs + pads.

The pads are pretty good, they dont say much about the brand of discs.

I know, there\'s not much detailed info on the discs.....

I\'ve red a review of someone who tracked a 106 rallye and they seem pretty happy with them.  But then again his comparing it to his oem french stuff!....

The FD is only running around 300hp so not massive amount of power, I might give them a try, hopefully they might be good!?!

I\'ve a feeling that discs like this might well just be OE ones (or, like Blueprint OE-replacement sorta things) that someone\'s had an engineering firm machine grooves into. That\'s just my experience of this sorta thing and gut feeling, rather than personal knowledge of these specific discs or this seller. With that said, there\'s nothing wrong with OE Mazda discs, so long as you don\'t want to track them or fit hard pads and warp them. The localised heat of machining them if it\'s not done properly may make them more prone to warping, I suppose

I wouldn\'t skimp on disks - i\'m trying to find the review i read somewhere of these - someone cracked them in 2 months IIRC. I really would pay the extra and go with some reputabel ones from Brembo or similar.

As for the pads - There are a lot of people not very happy with mintex extremes - I knw a few people who have tried them on S-bodiews and they fall apart once they get heat into them. AFAIK Mintex have stopped producing them after a short period of time - that says something to me...!

Ahh.... Not too good then.  In that case I may just stick to the OEM stuff.  It\'s just so I can get this thing MOT\'d and registered..... Feel like it\'s been taking up space in the corner of my garage for years.  (It\'s only been in the country for 2 weeks.. lol)

Cheers for the feed back guys!

I,ve just replaced my perfectly good OEM discs with Black Diamond Combo\'s for better braking and cosmetics :) .  They have very little wear and are in very good condition. I don,t want a lot for them , just seemed a shame to throw them away. Email or PM if your interested.

Thanks for the offer Bob but i\'ve ordered some blueprint ones from the local motorfactor next door to my garage.  They arrived this afternoon.  Thank you anyway.

Kevin as much as the person with the 106 \'raved\' about them, an FD is not a 106!

There is little girl racer, then there is an FD!

As said above dont skimp on brakes, they could save your life!!!
