Quote from: JimjitsuTried to fit a carbon bonnet on my rex today and it does not fit seems that the bonnet catch wont move down far enough to bring the bonnet in line with the bumper it sits about 7mm to high any ideas why.The bonnet came off a 93 and fits fine mines a 95 and dont fit at all no difference is there?:2Confused

Could be a few things,

Ask the previous owner if it fitted his car ?

First thing I would do is unbolt the bonnet catch on the body completly then see if the bonnet shuts with no catch as this will show if this bonnet is ever going to fit.

If it does fit then you have two choices, either remove the catch on the bonnet if its not bonded in and have it cut and welded or cut slots in the catch on the body to drop it then use washers to clamp it back on.

Lastly if you have a standard front you should be able to stand at the front of the car and pull up the edge a bit as this is something I have done on both RX-7\'s and RX8s to line up the front panel to the bonnet line
All the best Clive

You should ALWAYS use bonnets pins on GRP/CF bonnets (back up to the main catch or not).. Have been a few nasty accidents due to the GRP/CF catch not being able to withstand an unfortunate crosswind!
Besides.. they look cool :D
