Yes Rx7, but which one in particular?

If I get half a chance (between curtains and lights shopping for new place) I\'ll stop by the bookshop and take a look. See if we can\'t work out who\'s doing what.

Besides, if I can\'t read it, she can... ;)

Actually Glenn, I have a question if you don\'t mind.

The crank for this animal, I noticed somewhere you said it was \'Custom\' CNC machined. Does that mean you went to someone and asked them to make one up, is it an off the shelf part from somewhere or what exactly? And if it was from a machine shop somewhere, was it expensive, as in hideously expensive, pricy but worth it or a relative bargain?

Just curious is all.  At least you might give me a reason to spend more than plane changeover time in Sydney next time I go back. Even after spending 6 weeks in the suburb next to Blacktown (starts with an A?). That left a lasting impression... Not a good one either.

BTW, hurry up! ;)

No probs. - the Crank is actually made by a company called Precision Engineering in New Zealand, they make custom 3 and 4 rotor shafts.  The 4 rotor shaft kit is around USD$5500 I think.  But I am getting a complete engine from Alec at //www.kiwi-re.com through the guys at City Performance (they use to work together). Engine will be using all new parts, Ianetti seals., RX-8 rotors etc., there is obviously a lot of money there.

hehehe - at least you were close to Eastern Creek - you have to check it out on a Wed. night if you haven\'t already.

Good things take time!  and LOADS of dosh! :)
Thanks,

Alec Bell/Kiwi-RE are building the engine I think - I dunno if they make the cranks themselves?

BTW, Glenn - see the Kiwi-RE RX2 in FF\'s this month - SWEET :)

Hi Rich,

Yep - Alec\'s doing the engine, Precision doing the crank.

I haven\'t even got the mag. yet!  bloody hell, better get down the newsagent!
Thanks,

Theres a (small!) pic of the purple beast in the back, apparently its meant to be debuting soon ? Looks the nuts.

Went to Shakespeare today; bit of a culture shock after santa pod. Mostly yank big block chevy\'s etc but some other interesting stuff. Quite a few 8s and 9s run, couple of 7\'s and a couple of 6\'s by the jet car at 250-280mph...

Much more of a spectators venue, lots of room for camping too, well organised, very good (well prepared and sticky) track etc etc.

Schtoo,
The new Rx7 Magazine has Silver Scoot FD.
Lots of georgeos pics for me in this one.
It also mentions Sevens day but I cant tell If Its on at Fuji.
I think they moved it to Central Ti circuit.
Fuji speedway is not holding the drift of Power tour this year either. SUCKS. I think that track is Just too expensive.
My She can read but she cant tell me what she read. :(

Any way.
Glenn.

No problems. I,ll scan You will be amazed.
As I said Tuesday usually home late. 12ish your time.
I\'ll go back to the gold coast initially so the car will come in through Brisbane.
Then I was thinking about Melbourne. Just see where the IT jobs are. Sydney You never know. But not likely. Melbourne more possible.

Russ.

Glenn, so that\'s "don\'t eat for a month or three" kinda cash. Still, understandable given what it is. As for the loads of dosh, well you didn\'t seriously think building a car that half CF and has two engines bolted together would be cheap did you? ;) Eastern Creek, we could hear them from our motel, but too tired to do anything about it. Working 12 hour days 13 days a fortnight kinda wears you out a tad...

Rex, I should actually grab that mag. Sounds like it might be a better deal than just reading it (ala local style).  Plenty of eye candy always goes down well.

As for her, well, I\'m sure she has other talents that make up for her inability to relay what your magazines say. I\'d bet large sums of money on that. ;)

Seems a lot of things are deserting Fuji this year. Makes me think it\'s more than just $$$ cost, but that something might be happening. Either it\'s going to become something else (who knows?) or it\'s getting a facelift. But things be strange around there.

Why do I care anyway, theres a local track not far from here I will probably have to frequent when I get some appropriate wheels. The Saber just doesn\'t cut it iin the corners or the straights or under brakes or anywhere for that matter. Well, it\'s comfortable (and it needs Shaken!)...

Enough thread hijacking. I\'ll grab the mag and see what it says. I\'ll leave the pics to you as I am sure you will prolly scan them anyway and I\'m between homes right now, so things are a mess!

I must have missed that one, latest is the one with the MR2 on the cover.

Great - that sounds promising re Shakespeare, I remember the first time I saw Funny Cars run at Calder in Melbourne.  One ran a 6.22 @ 220mph the other a 6.3 @ 222 mph - just amazing!

Great stuff - hopefully not too many broken diffs/gearboxes!
Thanks,

Cheers you guys in Japan!

Schtoo - buying £1000+ worth of injectors alone it should make me very skinny! but it hasn\'t!  maybe I have to keep spending  :rollin
Thanks,

Fully intended to stop by the bookshop and grab a copy, I really did.

But we ended up buying a sofa (Normal price was Y128000, got it for Y20000) so it made for a time poor day. :(

Well, that\'s my excuse and I\'m sticking to it darn it!

It had absolutely nothing to do with \'christening\' the new place, none whatsoever... ;)

I\'ll grab a copy tomorrow and see what it says. At least we aren\'t going to be busy, err, shopping for new stuff.

A few more off their site.

Because I have not been able to find the darn thing yet.

I read this thing and it basically says "The building and materials in RE Amemiya\'s new machine" as far as I can work out.

Next was "Why the heck did he say it wasn\'t Amemiya???" I guess the Scoot cover was playing tricks. ;)

I just wish the local book chain wasn\'t so useless. The have stores everywhere, very little good stuff in them, including the two huge stores here (one even has car parking).

I\'d give my left *** for a good bookstore here. It\'s the main thing I really miss, being able to buy books that I actually want to read. The store here carries English stuff as a service to the locals, nothing more. And they wonder why nobody buys anything.

Sorry about the rant. :)

Thanks so much for the pictures Russ, what a serious looking car eh!

Certainly gives me a few ideas!
Thanks,
