I\'ve been lucky enough to get my hands on a set of storage bins in great condition. Where/how do I get hold of all the bolts and plastic clips etc to actually secure it all in place?

Jimjitsu

you got the side panels and divider as well?

gregmacd

I have the side panels and a flat back piece that goes between the side panels assuming that\'s what you mean by divider then yes I have.

Jimjitsu

you should have a load of bolts that will come out when you take your old side panels out you can re use alot of them the divider just clips in so you wont need any for that best thing to do is strip the old seats and side panels out use what bolts you have then post up in the wanted section for any you are missing im sure plenty of folks will have what you need just stick some pics up of any bits that are missing after you have fitted the bins :)

gregmacd

ok I was hoping to avoid the rattly interior approach but if you\'re sure there\'s no other way :(

Jimjitsu

well if you want i can go see whats holding mine in and take some pics for you before you start

No don\'t go to any trouble on my account, I was only asking in case there was a convenient part #fchy7637 "rear storage bin mounting kit" or whatever that I could order from somewhere.

Right The way Id do this is:

First off, fit the base of the bins. This is pretty simple. Slide it into place and then you got 2 brackets on the side thru which id put a nut and bolt but i think you can just as easily use pop rivets. If you car didnt originally have bins, then there arent going to be any bolt holes for the lower bolts near the carpt of which there should be 2. Also there wont be any studs for the 3 rear nuts to go over. In my experience, they never really rattle like you think they would. If you wanted to overcome this, the only way would be to mark out the holes should be in the boot floor and then drill and tap them to take a 10mm headed bolt with a rubber spacer (which you put under the sort of flat bit).
The side panels - u shud be able to reuse the little trim clips from your rear seats. All of them should be reuseable.
The rear backrest doesnt need any such fixings :)
