Hi chaps - went to test drive a single turbo yesterday.
It had a Diff brace fitted which caused the car to be quite "jumpy" when backing off the throttle.

What are the benefits of the diff brace and is it needed?

For info, the car is running approx 400bhp.

Cheers,
AL

The diff brace isn\'t the cause of this jumpiness, rotarys are prone to it.  In actual fact, the diff brace will help to ease jerkiness, as it increases rigidity in the drivtrain so it is less "sloppy".  Benefits are that when you run single turbo sort of power through your stock diff, it can cause problems so diff brace help to strengthen the whole drivetrain.

Mine without the brace is very jumpy when coming off the throttle - it \'piulses\' a lot - However, I know it\'s got an aftermarket clutch (unknown) so i had suspicions this could be being exagerated by an aftermarket fly as well.
If the diff brace can help a bit with this it may be time to invest...

I struggled with jerky throttle control for a long time with this car, 3 things I have found to bring it down to acceptable levels

Engine torque damper
Diff brace
