Guys, I\'m, going to get to the bottom of my problems this weekend come hell or high water as a few mates are getting some respectable jap motors now & only being able to use 4500 of my rpm\'s is killing me!!

Basicaly I need to know if the rats nest solonoids get a +0.8bar only or if it is a -figure!!

what I intend to do is use a bike pump to create the + pressure using a pressure gauge to show when I get to .8bar then do the usual on the electrical conections to check they are working properly!!!

Cheers in advance

I\'ve been suffering from no boost and now intermittent 2nd turbo for over a year now and I think I\'ve narrowed it down to Charge Controll Solenoid, which is the one that needs to deal with +ve boost. I changed it for a second hand one and now i have boost on the second turbo but only if i accelerate from 1500rpm(ish) with no gear changes.

Any way ... I\'m going to buy a new one from Mazda but after looking the parts number list for engine components (I can\'t find the link at the moment, it was in a recent thread to do with service manuals, I\'d really appreciate it if someone can find the link for it :chat ) there are 2 solenoids that has a different part number to the rest.

I think it\'s C and F on that diagram. The part numbers should confirm this.

If your having this problem mate it is more likely to be solenoid J: Turbo precontrol. I had the same issue going back a while, changed that and all has been perfect with the transision of the turbos & the second blower has never faild to kick in since!! but at the moment it is kicking in too much & I can\'t cross 5k without over boosting & hitting fuel cut!!

To be honest I never even considered the turbo pre-control solenoid ...  better go and pick up another one to see if that makes a difference :D Atleast it\'s a hell of a lot easier to change that than the ones under manifold.

hi jono does your car cut fuel and then back fire and loose power, if so think i have the same problem mate

Jono FD3

Mine pulls like a train until the second turbo kicks in a 4500 rpm, keep the throttle open & the boost will just go mental & hit fuel cut missfire ahd generaly throw the toys out the pram!!

Sounds like the same prob id had, turned out to be the solenoid that controls the CCV (y-pipe), I tested the solenoid and found it to be sticking under pressure and that was causing the probs, did a write up on how to test the solenoid here: solenoid test
and details of my probs and how i tested my theory (3rd post down) here: clicky
Hope this helps bud
:Laugh LOL

Bobbit, was yours overboosting to buggery @ about 5000rpm???

Mine hits fuel cut at this point!! or did before I took the nest out for an autopsy!!

hi bobbit
had a new one off those from mazda about 2 years ago, think ive a spare on a rats nest i got from here so will try that.
here what happens when i hit gas it back fires and big bang and cuts power and i go forward to window screen and then no boost, is that the same as yours was doing
