Hi guys,
Just found myself an \'88 FC EGi(I think!), fancied one for a while, but only just got around to looking. Its only an NA (maybe that will change, but i\'ll have to see what i think of it first!) but i bought it as it was pretty cheap and i couldnt say no! I\'ll get some pics up on here asap, i\'m collecting it next friday.
Taking a bit of a chance buying one, as i\'ve never driven one before, but i love the look of them so much i decided to go for it!
I\'m in Colchester, are there any meets around the essex/suffolk area?
Hopefully meet some of you guys soon. :Thumbs-up

welcome to MRC James

my first RX7 was an EGI and they are FANTASTIC cars - handle like a dream and sound superb

just becareful if its your first RWD car as they are still 150 bhp and can bite at any time

any questions about them - your in the right place to ask

Ok mate, thanks for the advice. I\'ve had a tuned S13, an 325 & a supra mk3, but the FC has always been one of my favorite cars! Too much Initial D maybe....
One day i\'d like to stick a turbo lump in if its possible, but till then i\'ll have fun with an NA. I think its an EGi, but i thought that was just an FC NA model, so i may have just claimed to have something far better than i actually have!

Welcome to the club mate. Always nice to have new faces on here. If the car is N/A then its an EGI as far as I am aware. Enjoy it and get some pic\'s up.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

i quite like it in silver! White would be ideal, but silver will do. A white turbo II would be best... but dont have the funds for that! :(

Hi James, as Grinder says, there are fantastic cars, and (in my view anyways) far better looking than the Porsche 944 which was the market Mazda were after with the 2nd gen models.  Had my \'88 EGI since 94 and still enjoying it after 14 years.
Your car certainly looks like an EGI although the rear spoiler is different to mine. Possibly been replaced, or did they have different spoiler designs?
Anyway hope you enjoy it!

I\'ve only had mine a few weeks.. but I love it.. plenty of grunt.. only real problem I\'ve had so far is vandalism.. and I can\'t really blame the car for that.. apart from it\'s obvious sporty good looks attracting the ****\'s in the first place.

Well.. actually tell a lie.. I did have a wee problem last night... hmm.. I\'ll post it in my thread I guess.. it\'s a bit of an essay now I\'ve finished writing it

humm the spoiler does looks a bit strange to be honest ???

Thats the spoiler the earlier EGI\'s got in the UK and the S4 had it in the rest of the world.  Power steering would have been optional too.

Me thinks this must be an \'87 model...as far as I can see all the \'88\'s had the larger spoiler?

dthebuk

well my 88 has a wrap around

88 was the cross over year, I had an 88 with a wrap around.

All depends how long the car was sat at the Mazda yard before being ordered :)
