Hi, Sorry if this question has been asked before, I have been thinking of buying a third generation RX7 and am just arranging the sale of my Westfield to raise the funds.
However I just had an insurance quote from my current broker Sureterm of £641.00 on a 5000 mile annual limited mileage policy !! Is this normal  for an RX?

I am 48 and live in a reasonable area, the car will be garaged etc, etc.

Can anyone suggest an alternative insurance company who does not penalise drivers for having a Japanese car ?

Many thanks
Chris

I have found the most cost effecive way to insure them is on a second car classic policy.  AON / A Plan are good for those policies I believe (I\'m insured with both for the Elise and FD but I cant remember which one I have the FD with)

Anyway, i\'m 34 and pay £400 ish, they know about all the mods too :cool      5yrs NCB but with a big fault claim (£15k wrote off my S2000) a few years back

I think that quote isn\'t far off.

Have you looking in the \'insuring your rotary\' section.

There are a couple of insurance companies offering a club deal.

I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Thanks guys.
I know I\'ll be back with more questions regarding buying a car if I can sort out a better insurance quote.

Try Adrian Flux insurance.

Heritage classic insurance is very good.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself...
But i can always do with some help now due to, my advancing years!

Ewww, someone\'s mentioned the \'F\' word... I wouldn\'t, not after having a car insured with them for a year, and I don\'t think I\'m the only one.

I\'ve got the FC insured via Sureterm, but they weren\'t able to give me a competitive (actually, any) quote on my FD. The latter is insured via A-Plan and the renewal just came through 450 fully comp for a regular policy with a fairly large excess (something like 500 quid or so), 10k/year, off-street parking. That\'s with me being 39, no points and tons of NCB.

Green light are cheap and good if your car is registered exactly as they have it on the insurance database.  Unfortunately mines was registered as a 2600cc then re registered as a 2616cc type r however this isn\'t on the insurance register so won\'t touch me.

2354cc for type R
1308 for UK model
they will insure a type r 2600cc and 2616cc if its an automatic

Got a good quote from AON but need to get my 6 back on the road.

Try A-Plan, they sorted me out for the past few years. I\'m 28, 10 yrs NCB, residential parking, cost about £500 with 10k miles a year policy.
