I\'m hoping to go and take a look at an RX7 all the way down in Devon on Saturday. I\'ll be traveling from Doncaster so am hoping the car is as good as the current owner claims. If anyone would like to give me a hand by going to have a nosey this week then please get in touch. (long-shot i know, haha)

Anyway, my plan would be to meet the current owner at Dragon and have them give the car a once over and a compression test to give me a bit of piece of mind. The car was rebuilt by pip and is currently running a single turbo kit fitted by Ross and Dragon. So i should hope all is ok in the engine department.

I\'m just wondering if i\'m asking a little too much, the owner seems ok with this so hopefully i can speak with Ross tomorrow and get something arranged.

Anyway, wish me luck and if anyone would like to go look at the car or offer any other nuggets of information away from the forum please get in touch via email on tim.darracott@gmail.com

Thanks

Tim

Well you can\'t do any better than the way you\'re approaching it.

got my fingers crossed for you.

You\'ve been very sensible with your rx7 research, it\'s amazing! If only i had your composure & patience... I pretty much bought the first one i saw... :Giggle... I\'m just glad i went to trustworthy rx motors instead of some private owner trying to shot his rotary on the way out!

Mind has been changed, lollers!

He\'s not a member but has spent a mountain of money at Dragon over last couple of years. I\'m going to try and speak to Pip or someone of authority at WGT tomorrow to ask a few questions as well.

I just hope the bodywork is up to spec, do these cars rust at any particular points? I\'m sure i\'ll find something with a quick search but just in case.

Well just back after a 600 mil round trip.

The car went fantastically well, mechnically it looks great. The bodywork and interior left much to be desired.

I wasn\'t really sure what to expect as the price was low, but when quizing the owner over the telephone as to why this was he just stated the pain on the front bumper and wing wasn\'t very good.

Upon further questioning on the phone i was told that the interior was pretty good and also there was no evidence of rear end damage or paint. This wasn\'t the case unfortunatley.

I understand that it was cheap but had the owner been honest with me when answering questions a very long journey and money could have been saved.

Lesson learnt, now were are the good single turbos, haha! Nuk Su Kow, let me speak to the bank and i\'ll be in touch.

reallyfeel for you mate travelling all that way , why dont you do what i always do and buy something cheap that you know needs work and then get it up to your standard and your spec , it saves lots of time and bad feelings when you veiw cars that are badly described , come round and have a chat if you want i am doing brakes on car tomorrow (sunday) so will be in the garage all day , if you know the area i live which i reckon you do, drive down the backs and the garage door will be open from about 11
see you tomorrow :cheers
