Hi, i\'ve been reading the forums for a while now since i got my rx7 turbo II in the summer, and decided to join up to the club.
The car started off with a load of problems, some of which still persist!
the normal wiper switch thing, strange problem when i take a hard left turn? engine almost dies? like fuel starvation?(yes i do have plenty of fuel in it), a hesitation at 5000 rpm and a lack of acceleration beyond 5000,
The car is generally solid and only needs a little bit of welding on one sill.
I\'m going to need 2 rear exhaust boxes soon! any suggestions on where to get them? Also brake caliper rebuild kits?

Here\'s a couple of pics:

grinder

stick some new plugs in it - that might help the RPM problem

left turn ... humm might mate has the exact same problem on his FD - but cant think how he sorted it ( or i think it was that )

rear boxes - speak to PDtaylor

and welcome aboard :D

Thanks! yes i have new plugs, and new leads!
i think someone on another forum said the left hand turn problem could be to do with a fuel sock in the tank? just wanted to see if anyone here has come across this problem?

PDtaylor? another member?

Yes i know rotechniks! i also know the price of racing beat\'s exhausts!!!
maybe i\'ll see if they do a cheaper alternative?

pdtaylor18

I have replied to the other thread, which i think a MOD might want to sort out. if it gets deleted I do have two like new mazda back boxes which you can have for £100.  They are over £300 from mazda to buy.  These still have the stickers on them.
Take the fuel pump out and see if its been uprated, I had a Bosch 040/044 in my FD and this did that when down to 1/4 tank when going round left turns.  get rid of the pump as this may kill your engine.  If you need a stock one I do have one but you might as well upgrade to something better.(just my opinion)

I have a full racing beat exhaust as well but i think i may hang on to that, money may persuade me otherwise but it will be cheaper than what you can get one for !!

Thanks! i\'ll have the 2 mazda boxes off you, let me know how you want payment.
I\'ll take a look at the fuel pump over the weekend.

Cheers!

Welcome aboard !

I bought my car from a guy in High Wycombe.

Nice looking car.   Search on the forum here for wiper switch, or take a look at www.fc3spro.com - there are write ups on how to replace a dodgy relay in the switch unit.  You can get the replacement part from RS (http://rswww.com) or Farnell (www.farnell.com).

If you need any help doing it give us a shout, as I\'ve fixed a couple of these things now.

Payment for back boxes is pdtaylor18@hotmail.com but think we might want to sort of delivery, I will try to get some quotes for you but would imagine you are looking at £40. Let me know.  How soon do you want the boxes?

just sold a wiper switch, well provisionally anyway so if it does not sell i\'ll let you have next dibs, last one i have now for a coupe. (£20)
I have lots of other stuff, just email me on the address above.

There were times when I felt so bad breaking a few FC\'s that were rotten but its offset knowing that i have put/kept more FC\'s on the road for other people.

As long as the wiper switch works on the normal speed, it will pass an MOT on that test

Yes, i know, but does bug me!
The rear wiper doesn\'t work either? is that the same relay?

pdtaylor18

Looking at the wiring diagram there are seperate relays for the front wiper and rear wiper, might be easier to buy a whole working unit.

Check the fuse for the rear wiper. mine was blown when I bought my car. Fuse box is in the drivers footwell. Fuse layout on the fuse box cover.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!
