I know there are loads of posts on here about different models but i just cant work out which mine is

Its a 1992 Jap Import

I assumed for ages it was a type X as it has al the basics

cloth seats
16" wheels
no Sunroof
Rear wiper

then i removed the front bumper and i have two oil coolers. I have read several places that the type x only came with one.  I know it could have been added as an extra but looks just as old and worn as the other one.

it says on the s/n plate, model: e-fd3s does this not help with telling which one it is??

The Type X model comes with electric sunroof, cruise control and Bose sound tube in the boot.  Yours sounds very much like it is a Type R.

I thought the type x was the base model without all the extras

It must be the best :cheers

Rich is the fountain of all knowledge when it comes to which one is which and perhaps when he has finished brushing his hair he\'ll come on line.

The type x was the more luxury model, with slightly softer ride, and they also came with leather front seats.

There was a type S.  I believe this is the model that usually came with single oil cooler.

Type R you have.

Type S was similar to Type X except the sunroof, cruise, climate, BOSE etc.

Most Type S\'s were regisered as Type R\'s as there was little difference in them.

Sweetie, you should also have strut brace front and rear, and cloth front seats.

Is your car an automatic? Auto\'s have two oil coolers, one is for the transmission oil.
