These came on my car and have sat in the garage ever since. Does anyone have a clue as to what make and model they are?

:Laugh LOL

Yes, the best cars have them fitted ;) :D

Totally depends on sizes to be honest - in general, higher offsets and lower widths tend to be worth less second hand. Also depends on condition of wheels and tread level on tyres.

A set of low offset, wide wheels, with reasonable tyres should get you £400 plus I would have thought. They are a nice light wheel :)

Bobbit

How do i tell the offset (and what is off set??)

I dont get that? higher offsets are better suited to FDs? seeings as stock rims are +50 at each corner.

SiH

Offset should be stamped on the back of the hub face:)

Yeah, higher offsets are suited to FD\'s and supra\'s if you don\'t want to do any bodywork, but lower offsets with a bit of bodywork make the world of difference to the car\'s look. They are also much more suited to the likes of Skylines, 200sx\'s (which are also 5x114.3 and a smaller centre bore, so RX7 wheels fit) etc, which, you have to admit, are a larger market. My SX ran a 9" et22 on the rear and 23 on the front and i loves the stance.

I plan on fitting much lower offsets to my FD to get the look i\'m after.

Nope - flush fitment + willing to roll and flare + a slight stretch on the tyres if neccessary=no issues at all :)
If you fit them, and they rub, then make the car fit them :)

I don\'t beleive D-cups, or a large amount of people on rx7club have rubbing issues, and they run what i would call \'proper fitment\' wheels ;)

Bobbit

Right the rear of the wheel says 17X9J and 38, this was taken off one of the wheels but 2 of the wheels are a different size to the other 2. so dont know if it was the wider of the 2 or not

Yep, thats all well and good if you just want to make it look pimping for the street. But like I said \'if you drive it properly\' aka track days etc...you\'re going to rub some where, even with rolled arches etc. I\'ve driven loads of FDs with various offsets, ride heights, rim and tyre widths. Even some very near stock setups can rub, its weird. As for stretching tyres, uggh!

I ran 18x10s with a 38 offset last year on track with no arch lip remaining (hammer/grinder), with hard springs and a fair amount of camber and still managed to remove paint/rubber :King

If you choose the fitment properly, you shouldn\'t get rub, that\'s the whole point - I ran a reasonably aggressive fitment on my previous car, which was lowered by a reasonable amount, and properly alighned to Whiteline\'s fast road settings, and experienced no rubbing issues on track whatsoever, due to correct bodywork tweaking/tyre fitment ;)
And LOTS of people do the same, on LOTS of different cars :)
Granted, my last car wasn\'t an FD, but i cannot for the life of me see how it will vary so much compared to all the other cars i\'ve seen with no issues.
If you want to check for rubbing, it\'s simple on a double wishbone setup: Jack up the car, unbolt the shock from it\'s lower mount, and jack up the wheel right into the extreme of it\'s travel in the arch. Check the clearance, add a bit for the movement of the bushes, and take the neccessary action, be it rolling, flaring, camber adjustment, height, spacers, or even tweaking the preload :cheers

It really frustrates me that people slate cars with aggressive fitment wheels because they beleive they have just been bodged on with no thought for clearance.:Hammer

I am in no way saying that you can slap a set of low offset, wide wheels on any car and it\'s fine, but you can often get a car with very good fitment wheels and no rubbing issues whatsoever. :3gears-lh

Exhibit A:

Reasonably flush fitment, front and rear, no rubbing issues in the slightest, round high speed corners at Combe or slower corners at Silverstone, or on cornish roads, fully laden for a holiday :D
