Now that i\'ve been hooning around the block in my FD, I can move onto stage 2 of ownership. It needs more power!!!:D

I don\'t want to single turbo it, and I know that I can get just as much power from a 13B, if not more. I\'ve seen dyson rotary drag car in Aussie, and KiwiRE\'s drag cars..... and nothing beats the sound of a quad Rotor on full song.......

But I want a 20B. This I can afford, (quad rotor probably not)

Where could I get one, and what are they roughly worth?

are you planning on converting one yourself or are you looking to buy an FD with a 20b conversion already?

The latter would be difficult as there aren\'t many around.

Costs? how long is a piece of string?
I know Normski spent over £20k in total on his conversion. It can be done for just over £10k

Loud? Hell yes! :D

Eeeep! Sure I can do it though, around £10K minus sale of my 13B (has rebuild and $73Km on speedo) = ??? So its possible....

Anyone else with ideas? Whos actually done it?

Lot of work involved if you do it properly - you have to move the engine back in the bay, as the 20b is quite a bit longer, so you\'ve got to mod prop shaft, gearbox mounts and so on.  That\'s just for starters.  Talk to Pip at WGT as I think he was involved with Normski\'s car.

if you want to put the 20b in the correct location (further back) you will also need to modify the sump quite a bit too.

or you can just throw it in like the ppl who built the pink panther and have the engine sitting further forward with no need to mod the box or prop shaft.

no doubt tim @ rx motors will have 3 or 4 20b\'s knocking around. he might sell you one

What gearbox do people normally use? Does the FD Bolt up?

I\'m in the middle of doing this right now to our FD. We had a 20B got some looms of one of the club members on here so we can breifly run it up on the stock ecu to test stock power.

Custom subframe from the states which requires no sump mods. If you sit the 20B in the stock 13B position you need to make sure that you get a kit with bump steer correction and extended tie rod ends as the steering rack is moved slightly forward.

20B slides right in onto the FD box so thats not an issue, unless your moving the engine back.

You\'d need a aftermarket ECU we\'ll be using a mircotech LT12 with coils and ignition amp. Its a long winded process to get it right and running properly.

Tim @ RX motors has a bloody mountain of rotary engine parts :god
He certainly has the front half of a cosmo just chilling on a mountain of other parts :Laugh:Thumbs-up
