Quote from: LumI\'ll take some pics this week guys. Although mine don\'t look that great cos the 2 seats don\'t match.
I bought them individually second hand, not realising they where that cheap brand new! Doh!
It\'ll still give you an idea of fit etc.
You can get subframes for them for about £100 each i think, from RHD japan or if like me you don\'t mind venturing into the world of yahoo auctions japan you\'ll get them a good bit cheaper (bout £110 for a pair)
and fitting service
I wonder if any vendors can fit new seats and frames or provide the
frames( I am in London )

i have a sparco fitting subframe for an fd. Will probably split it from the seat as no one seems interested in them together.

I reckon there\'s a couple of important things to think about with changing seats, which I\'m sure you\'ve thought of but I hadn\'t till I tried it!

The first is whether they fit you as well as the car. I\'m not the largest guy in the world, but the race seat my FD came with was so ridiculously narrow between the bolsters that it felt like my ribs were in a vice. It was obviously made for tiny Jap people, and they are supposed to hold you tight, but it was horribly uncomfortable! It might be worth trying before you buy if you possibly can, especially since you say you do bodybuilding and that.

The second thing is insurance. Sounds weird, but I took a clear 100 quid off my premium reverting to a stock seat. They figure if you have a bucket then you\'re a track day fiend and are going to be firing yourself through armco every chance you get. Even though my insurance specifically didn\'t cover trackdays, they take every chance to squeeze a few extra shekels out of you!

That is interesting re the insurance, I already pay too much ( living in London ) I wonder if it will go up if I change seats

Might be worth checking. Maybe  I just had a particularly evil insurance company (ain\'t they all!) but the guy wouldn\'t budge, even, when I pointed out they didn\'t cover me for track use. He said "we treat it as an indicator of the sort of use the car will be getting"

that is out of order, they are all bad, any way I better call them..

Seems to be very much dependant on the car and the insurance - when I called A-Plan to tell them that I just put a bucket seat in the MX-5 they were cool with that. And they know that the car is used as a trackday car...
