Hi All

I have some months ago fitted second hand stock fd seats, in very good condition.

Now again they are going to rip and started to look old

It looks like I am going to have to fit some other after market seats which may last longer ( prices, fitting costs, links )

Can any one recommend some reclining seats which would fit my fd and also be comfortable?  My fd id my daily driver.  May be a better option is to have them re-trimmed in leather? I do not mind racing seats…

I have always wondered whether integra type R recaro\'s would fit.

Just wondering what you are doing with your seats that a set of very good ones is starting to rip after a few months?

Chances are that most aftermarket seats aren\'t any more durable unless you\'re talking mega-money.

They are lovely seats
I\'ve managed to shoehorn one into my other half\'s MX5, which are notoriously hard to get seats to fit into.

However, the squab is VERY wide and brushes both door and tunnel, so that may be the problem.

The Integra Recaro\'s are the "Speed" model I believe.  They were also used in some of the old Evo\'s (4 or 5 IIRC).

I\'ve got a pair for my FD (currently only fitted the driver\'s one) and I find them better than the stock seats.  They hold better in the corners and are more comfortable over long journeys.  Fittment wise, they are a bit tighter than the standard seats, but nothing dramatic.

The only issue with looking for ones out of the Type-R\'s is that they are a popular mod in the Honda world and as such go for ridiculous prices IMO.

I\'m pretty sure that the seats in the DC2 integra type R are recaro SR\'s
I have a pair of recaro SR\'s in my FD and they fit ok, it\'s a bit tight though and how well they fit depends on what subframe you use, one is on an original recaro subframe and fits perfectly but the passenger one is mounted on a subframe of unknown make and sits slightly further to one side so doesn\'t fit as well.
If you\'ve got rear bins rather than seats then the fit isn\'t as good because the rear side panels for bins are slightly wider and the wheel for reclining the seats neads to be removed to get them in.
You can get recaro SR\'s for about £300 each new i think, i\'ll try and find a link.

Here you go, these are what i have in mine, i think they used to be called SR\'s but they\'ve updated them slightly and changed the name to speed.

Only £250 each!!

Yeah that\'s the link I saw, didn\'t realise they used to be called something else.  I doubt there\'s too much difference anywho.

£250 is a bargin compared to the people that charge £500 for a used set of Type-R seats.

Lum, do you have any interior pics? I really like those, and at that price look ultra-affordable. I just can\'t justify paying out for Bride Gias ones :(

I got gias seats worth every penny. If you want to save some money buy the sport model about £150 cheaper each. The fitment is much better as they keep the seating position straight to the pedals unlike other after market seats. However this means they do rub the tunnel but there is good clearance to the door.

Hi

The problem I have with the seats is that every time I get in or out of the car I “drag” my body across the seat always in the same area, half way between the clip for the belt and the bottom of the seat thus wearing the material off.  I am sure that training bodybuilding competitively does not help.  I am only 5 8” but quite broad and stocky.

Thanks for that mate

Price is good and they look great, let us see them in your car?  Photos please !!!!!!!!

How was the fitting ?  How much did it cost in the end?

I\'ll take some pics this week guys. Although mine don\'t look that great cos the 2 seats don\'t match.
I bought them individually second hand, not realising they where that cheap brand new! Doh!
It\'ll still give you an idea of fit etc.
You can get subframes for them for about £100 each i think, from RHD japan or if like me you don\'t mind venturing into the world of yahoo auctions japan you\'ll get them a good bit cheaper (bout £110 for a pair)
