My rex\'s alloys were replaced by Mazda when it was imported in \'99, but what would\'ve originally been on my \'97 RS-R rotary 30th anniversary model? I know the RS-R only came in black and yellow, and I have a feeling it came with 17" 5-spokes like mine, but in black. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi Steve

As the only other known RSR in the UK I can confirm they are 17\'s and were sold in black

Thanks for the swift reply John, I didn\'t know RS-R\'s were quite so rare!

Debating wether to put my wheels back to how they were from the factory, keep them silver or try something different...

Any opinions?

By the way John do you have any pics of your alloys?

Yeah thats was my baby:D - looks a bit different now [see this months Banzai out 19th May] though.

I had the wheels refinished in a dark metalic grey [aka spirit R colour] Black looks bad ass - makes the car look lower somehow, maybe get the side reflectors, markers smoked:bandit

Hi,

I managed to track down some info which suggested my car was a 94 Bathurst.  Is there any way of telling from option codes if it is an R or RII version?

Cheers,

Richard

Here is a picture of John\'s car from the recent Bolney meet.

You should sell them to me and pick up some aftermarket ones ;)

Later model RS versions (96+) came with those 17" ones as stock too, although I think they only had the silver ones. I\'m after another set to use for track (they\'re sooo light), but they seem more than a little rare.

In terms of colour - I reckon black wheels with a black car look ace, personally.

Remember Steve,  I sent you a pm on 10th asking for your wheels if you decide to change.

So you did, I\'ve only just read it though, didn\'t know I\'d received an IM... It doesn\'t tell you if you\'ve got an IM unless you go into your CP settings :(

I\'m not sure what to do with the wheels yet, still mulling over it.  Also depends on finances.  I\'m into my sixth week of ownership, so still half expecting something to fall off or blow up...  Though everything seems ship shape at the moment!
