Thanks,

To the the guy\'s at rxmotors my car is back on the road again.
However the diff I have is a loan which I cannot afford to blowup.
It\'s from an auto with 3.9 final drive ratio so not the quickest off the line i.e not ideal for dragging. I need a company in uk preferably that can supply me with an aftermarket diff by the 25th May. Does anyone know of any please??
I got a purple 1st gen to whoop.

I have an auto diff which was to be, for the top speed event at TOTBII. Dont write it off as at pod the finish line is just out of reach of 3rd gear but not enough revs for 4th, so raise your rev limit and it may well help on second half of the qtr if you can cross the line in 3rd.
Just a thought, what is 8.5 revs in third equiv in speed?

Brian,  sounds like you may have my auto diff! I ordered one from tim but he hasnt sent it yet. Its for my tripple FD for TOTB.   It would be interesting to see what it does on the 1/4 cos as gary says, you have to change into fourth to get accross the line unless you do what clive did and hit 9k rpm in third and pop your engine. At least thats the rumour.  I missed fourth on my first two runs and ended up coasting accross the line. I think i got a little over excited and tried for reverse at 100mph instead of fourth.

As for an after market diff i cant help..... sorry.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Clives engine did not really pop, after the runs at the pod he drove it back home and after I pulled it apart I found a cracked apex seal.Good job that Clive wanted more power really or we would have ended up with more damage!
You are quite right about how it happened though,Clive was pulling revs in an area that was not mapped, which we believe caused the seal to crack, also the engine was not built to handle 9000 rpm,the new one is though!
Kind regards

Sounds impressive carl, i look forward to getting whipped by him. :rollin I think clives engine did very well considering it wasnt mapped that high. Are you going to get him into the 10\'s and really show the competition!

Brian,

You want me to ask around in Oz?  Send me a PM, if we find one (which I\'m sure there will be plenty of) we could have it on a plane to you this week.

Let me know.

For the record, you all should really be aiming for gearing that will take you across the line in 4th gear at around 7000rpm (this is obviously dependant on tyre size, gearing, hp etc.

I have a program that will calculate this for you, there are also some programs available out there on the web that will do the same.
Thanks,

bnaellis

Please Glen,

I would really appreciate it. I need anything that\'s basically stronger than stock with either 4.1 4.3 or 4.7 final drive ratio.
Tony i\'ll try my best not to blow your diff mate:D

Hi Brian,

Hmmm - could be a bit of a task.  The centres themselves really are not that different in strength for FD\'s, main thing is the LSD type and ratio.

I have a spare one for my car that I could send over - it is a standard 3.9:1 I think.

We could probably source one from Japan, where better ratios would be easier to come by - I have a couple of good contacts there so should be able to sort something, I\'m assuming you also have some good contacts?

I have asked a couple of guys here in Oz running FD\'s and they tell me the diffs are a real problem when it comes to big hp and sticky tyres - basically you have to hope they will hold together.

If you want me to contact Japan, I\'ll get onto it tomorrow.

I\'ll keep asking around here also.
Thanks,

DRAGON

I have a few manual diffs in stock, and a mazdaspeed 2 way, and 1.5 and RZ with a 4.1

Glenn Butcher

Brian, Ross may be your best bet for time.

I\'ll still keep searching around for you.
Thanks,

Eh? RZ = 4.3?

Yeah good spot rich, thats what I meant.

Brian?

You going with Ross?  I haven\'t had much luck - Guru Motorsports are working on one, I have just sent them an email asking about it.
Thanks,

Is Clive\'s car expected to be running again in time for RS Carl?
