Shhhhhhhhhhh:) The way Phil breaks engines it\'s not supprising, it\'s not a stock LS7 either, something like 700+bhp and nigh on the same in torques:yes

antnicuk

400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Still considering the V8 route myself.

Will give the rotary this one last chance and see what happens.End of the day i cannot compete with the big boys and tuners, havent got the finance.I just want a car i can use and enjoy plus if i put a V8 in it i could put it back on the road and it would be sensible. At the moment ive got loads of money in something i can only use a few times a year.

Drag racing at this sort of level is just to expensive for me i feel:(

i think alot of people do this and dont always realise the boarderline before thier own car is less and less useable.

I think v8 changes that boarderline. seems to be getting more and more popular but nore more so than the rotary in the uk.

ive given mine one chance too but more so because ive been in tinkers and i needed no convincing. :Laugh
fduk.

i think we will gradually see more and more v8 conversions in the uk out of the box 350-400bhp/and torque with 25-30mpg and easy emmisions testing are just a few of the good points..there are just too many rotarys going pop as soon as u turn up the power
in standard form a rebuilt motor is prob good for 50,000 miles but as most of us want about 400hp this is when things seem to start getting fraught with problems
there are several v8s out there now and with no reported problems yet either
i know die hard rotary guys hate the v8 but with terrible emmisions/low mpg etc its hard to love the rotary
the v8 i cannot see a downside as such
its fast/reliable same weight good emmisions/good mpg and sounds as good as kelly brook asking you to sleep with her
i have done far too much to ever sell my car and looks wise its as sharp today as it was new but i am just afraid to go on boost
mine still needs mapping after my rebuild(third time in 4 yrs)so maybe this time after carl has waved his magic wand at it i will be able to use the power safely
i hasten to add the previous 2 rebuilds were nothing to do with carl

I must say, i think you are right. I love my rotary but i am running 400 horse....the first time it goes pop its most likely getting an LS-series V8. I\'ve seen Tinker\'s install (hi mate; its me Andy from Fighting Torque :WaveBye  ) and it looks like its meant to be in there. Very tidy.

The weight issue does worry me though; i think it worked out being around 100kg more, and it hangs further out by the front axle than the 13B (which is one of the reasons the Rex handles like it does).

Tinkers was set up for the road rather than the track; i\'d like to try one that\'s been built to be used \'in a hurry\' before i committed, as i own my car for the track use, with the road coming a distant second.

I must say, its nice to be able to talk V8s without being burnt at the stake.

...ANYWAY, i wan\'t asking about his car because of the V8 angle; is there any way of getting in touch with him? Anyone got a number? Maybe they could give my number to him, and he call me? I respect people\'s privacy and understand he probably won\'t want his contact details on here.

cheers

give reworx a call they will pass u on to him dont think he comes on the forums at all
the states have loads of v8 fds and hinson supercars seem to be the main men for the conversion
they even do a wiring loom conversion and re flash the ecu to remove the vehicle theft portion
it does seem to be a very viable proposition just the intitial cost can be a bit scary
