Okay..so set out to fix my coolant problem this morning then take the car for a nice long run to check everythin..

I was standing with bonnet up, cig in mouth and noticed a really strong smell of fuel.. a wee gander under the car reveals £40 of optimax slowly soaking into my driveway and a steady drip drip from the drain plug on my fuel tank...quicky extinguishes cig, stomp upstairs to get the keys for the gf\'s Ford Ka and away to meet the boys for a bit of motorcross fun. Dead manly turning up in a Ka.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Is it just a new plug needed or could the tank be fecked...

Sometimes I wonder if this car and the money I have spent on it is really worth it.

Any advice appreciated..

Hang in their Craig, the FD can be a most cruel mistress at times, but you must keep the faith !!

If you would be willing to wait the two and a half years it takes to sell a single turbo bright yellow RX7 these days!

FB tanks rust at not top, not at the drain plug. Don\'t know about FD. Has the plug worked loose? Unusual. Plug shouldn\'t be damaged, might need new sealing washer if there is one fitted. Otherwise just got to get under and trace it.

I\'m slightly confused by the logic of \'arse, my car\'s pi$$ing fuel out the bottom - better stub my fag out and go out\' :D My thought process would be more along the lines of \'i\'d really better fix that...\' :yes

leon

*shudders* thats brings back memorys of me checking over the fuel sock on mine! Dad appeared over my shoulder with fag in gob asking me what im doing while staring down at a tank of tesco\'s finest.

I\'ve never freaked as much in my life! :eek
I woof in your general direction.

1st thought should have been to find the nearest bucket :Giggle

Could be that copper washer has gone bad or has it just come loose ?

Did you have the plug off for something recently ? Seems odd that it just did it ?

SiH ... the logic is very simple....

My Rex takes up every minute of my spare time. Just not that bloody time.
