Mer is the work of the devil - avoid it like the plague. It\'s abrasive and will mash your paintwork. I spent two and a half yyears and a lot of money trying to repair the fdamage Mer did to my SX\'s paintwork.

I use:
Sonus grey clay to cleanse the paint.
Merzena PO91l to cleanse and prep the paint.
Autoglym SRP to polish
EXP sealant to seal
Natty\'s paste wax to seal.
All good stuff :)

I imported a mint 300ZX for a good mate of mine a few years back, I went round one day to find him washing the car with fairy liquid!!!..... Standing there in shock I give him the benefit of the doubt thinking he maybe just using it to get rid of all the ground in dirt, then put polish & wax on etc, but to my horror he said to me thats all he uses to clean it..........!!

I bought him some polish and wax for christmas but I know he\'ll never use it!

Back on topic though I use meguiars.  Although i\'ve heard nothing but good reports about the poor boys stuff.  Might give that a go soon!

Megs clay bar and bodyshop 3 stage once or twice a year with mirror glaze, just regular wash with nxt shampoo and wax every so often.

Alison

Meguiars shampoo every time! (Smells soooo good!) makes it easier work to polish up so it\'s nice and shiney aswell (Or maybe that\'s just me being a big girl!) I\'ve used a couple of different waxes, I think it\'s Turtle wax in the garage at the mo though!

I go for Autoglym shampoo (trade size ;)) for the wash, then at the start of the show season build the polish and wax up with the 3 stages of meguires and a scratch X.

I then use Meguires Tech Wax during the year for a quick show polish or the Autoglym stuff thats been develped for dark colours :)

I use farecla products. You can only buy from specialized sellers though such as paint suppliers. It\'s top notch stuff used by the pro\'s http://www.farecla.com/

i use meguires sometimes but also have bought this autoglym for dark paint and that is good as well.

turtle wax, autoglym and meguires are over priced.

Gonna have a look about for something with a good amount of carnuba init but i\'m not gonna fork out for zymol tho.

Well i like to keep a good cote of wax on so the dirt doesn\'t really stick, as for wash and wax?? Well i buy the cheapest stuff i can lay my hands on (Concept wash and wax) doesn\'t make any odds as i put the three stage poorboys wax on my car and its really!!! good at repling dirt (i just hose it off once a week and it usaly lasts all winter).

Bit of advice, if you do go through the agro of having it properly Waxed don\'t get TFR (Trafic film remover) anywhere near it as it will bring the wax off.

I use Meguiars nxt to wash mine, just because it\'s got an RX on it. Dumb I know.

Then to clay/wax it I use products made by a company call Bilt Hamber.  They make a wax product called AutoBalm.  It\'s really odd to use but the depth it adds to my black paintwork is amazing.  You apply it with a damp cloth (or mist the panel and apply), wait 10 seconds then buff it to a shine with a clean dry cloth. Very odd, but very effective. Plus you no longer have to worry when you get a little moisture left from chamoising the body, it helps the application.

It\'s also good at sealing damage to paintwork eg. stone chips, and therefore stopping Mr. Rust.  See the link below for their tests they carried out.

I\'ve had a few products from these guys and they all do what they say on the tin and for a reasonable price.

I always use poorboys products but the GF use meguires on her FTO.
