Hi there,

Ive just purchased a 1993 FD3S RX7 and was wondering how i would increase the boost, as this is my first twin turbo car and im not that mechanically minded, im not sure how you control the boost on two turbos, is it just a simple case of buying a controller and getting it set up?

Also, whats the maximum recommended PSI on standard turbos?

Thank you :chat

Edit:

I should also add that it has an intercooler, intake, turbo back exhaust and an uprated radiator

er that would be a big NO!

The fuel system / computer (ECU) needs upgrading BEFORE you touch the boost. Mazda\'s ECU is great for running standard boost ONLY.

dont touch the boost until u have a apexi pfc and a good map from a good tuner..i would suggest carl at hayward rotary if only for a chat and some free advice

Welcome, definately apexi/mapping done, also watch the damp/wet roads if you gun it out of a bend the back end will bite you when 2nd turbo kicks in will get a lovely view of where you came from at best.
Any pics ?

your best bet is definetly a apexi power fc ecu and controller.  The standard boost is 0.8 bar, you can only put this up to probably 0.85bar with standard injectors although they would still be running high.  Ideally to run more boost on twins you need to uprate your fuel system - bigger secondary injectors and higher flow fuel pump.

You would also need a better intercooler but i see you already have that in your list, what do you have? uprated stock mount? front mount? v mount? which make etc?

The highest boost you can really run on twins is about 1.0bar anything over that is pushing it a bit, i know some guys who have run 1.2bar but dont expect your turbos to last long
