Hi all...

The FC has some wiper issues. Pulled out the Workshop manual and checked the Motor ( All good)

The Wipers will only work on I and the intermittent and II is dead ( And Mist too!) and will not park.

From the Wiper motor end it is apparent there is no power at the II setting.

So we checketh thy Wiper switchings.... (Aw stuff that tonight, I need a 12volt power supply???? Can we say lunchbreak!) Damm smart switches!

But im wondering is there a Control box for the wipers ( Nothing in manual) or a relay bank as that switch can only handle a cupple of amps! And I also cant figure out how to manually (As in jumper) the wipers to confirm it is not the wiring.

Any Ideas?

Prof

It\'s all in the switch itself.

This is a well known fault with the FC\'s.  Basically just a crappy relay that Mazda used.

See the link below - good write up on the issue and how to fix:

:mmmm

Thats sounding better as they want $795 for a new one....... :rollin

Almost as good as the $15 000 exhaust..... ( Thats how much a new FC turbo system costs!)

And relay 3 was dead, Cut off cover, a pair of Needle pliers to wiggle of the Relay cover and a Box knife to clean the contact. The outer casing had distorted due to the sparking ( Still was sparking when You hit intermittent)

So Im going to get a new relay and repair it properly. Think i smell a side buisness here.....:3Confused

Seriously, They want a bit much for the spares! ( Works out as £320 in old dart coin!)
