I have an \'89 EGi. Can anyone help me with the following please?

1) Is the engine a six-port?

2) How do I find out if it has high or low compression rotors?

3) If I wanted to turbocharge it (1.15 a/r T04E, .60 compressor (P-trim) at 1 bar), would I have to make any changes to the engine? I\'m thinking about bearings and apex seals in particular?? (ignoring need for ECU, fuelling, cooling, etc)

Thanks :cheers

N/A engines are supposed to be much harder to turbo charge. If the engine hasn\'t been touched then it will have high compression rotors.

The engine is a 6 port.
It is not a good idea to turbo charge the egi engine without at least putting lower compression rotors in it.
Also you will need to carry out fueling and an ecu that is mappable, and a decent intercooler too.
You would be better of with an engine from a turbo 2 if you really want to turbo,or even buying a turbo 2.

Cheers guys,

I\'ve got a new problem to sort first :Hammer  (see other thread)

But I\'ve found a few vids of turbo 6-ports, mostly in america. It sounds like a decent idea for a street-driven car if you don\'t want to go over 350-ish bhp.

Links in case anyone is interested?:

(I know the power figures aren\'t THAT impressive considering it\'s bridgeported and GT4088R or whatever it is but...)
