Thermostat sticking open

Just put some gunk in the coolant system to flush it out. To do this, i have to drive it for 30 miles. Now I\'ve noticed the thermostat sticking open when it\'s warming up. Is this normal? Is this expected?

I wouldn\'t expect that -the thermostat should be working normally no matter what you\'ve got the in cooling system.

Most likely it just packed up.
