so I\'ve my shiny new sump.  Only i can\'t bolt it on because this is in the way.

and it causes this

and it snags here

what is wrong?  have I the wrong sump?  Do i need to mod the sump?  Do i need to change the shiny thing (I assume it\'s an oil pickup?)

The \'shiny\' thing is the oil pickup, so at a guess yes you have the wrong sump. Another option would be the remodel the sump with the use of a friendly sized hammer. ;)

It won\'t be the sump thats wrong. You need a 12a pickup for the GSL-SE sump. I\'ll go and have a look if i have a spare one (I think I do)

I think i was told in the past another way is to lengthen the pipe as well.

that would explain it...  I don\'t think the length is a problem - it seems to be the first bend is too deep.

Thanks dude!  Anyone else out there got one of these for swapsies?  (bits for hugs - what is the exchange rate on that at the mo?)
