what is it exactly that makes the RB have less power and tq than the R-RS?

Less boost or something?

Does that 2nd oil cooler make a big diff?

Hi and welcome to Mazdarotaryclub

This is an excellent thread that you have reopened that started in feb 2003 for your first post.

Whilst from 1996 on, physical changes were made to the Turbo and ECU systems which meant that some models produce more power than others with out boost increases, the most impotant thing is that all normal production FD models share the same engine and transmission assembly\'s and that the diffs only differences are ratios.

Hope this helps
All the best Clive

A lot of useful information for first time buyers, helped me out a lot.

Cheers!

Hey,

Im sorry for bringing this thread up after a very long time but was curious of what my rx7 is, it\'s a 1996 it has a the front strut brace as the carbon effected seats and twin oil coolers but doesn\'t have the round rear spec lights but had the spoiler that came from factory but I have removed it so does anyone know how much brake and what kind off rx7 it is I\'m kinda new to this so forgive me if there\'s any mistakes!

Thanks
