ok so there are a few differant rotary tips out there
2 piece / 3 piece / ceramic etc and differant widths 2mm/3mm

What i am asking is what is better and why and where to get them from if I am to attempt a rebuild myself ( not to run a standard BHP! )

from what ive read and advice from members on here is ....... but im sure i will stand corrected.

two pice are stronger than stock 3 piece.

ceramic are expensive and good at reducing friction and rotating mass... but when they let go they cause massive damage to your turbo.

3mm can stand up to more det but dont seal as well as 2mm and give more friction.

best to go with metal uprated  \' unbreakable\' tips. as they are described... imo.  its claimed they dont shatter, and instead bend, limiting damage when they do go.  you can get really expensive \'unbreakable\' tips but you can get cheaper ones which are just as good if you shop around.

Yeah, it\'s a bit of a minefield.

The 3 peice are the old design and you can only get 2 peice tips now, even from Mazda as I understand it.

But personally I\'m going to stick with Mazda 2 peice 2mm seals, they\'ve worked well for 60,000 + miles, so why change ;) But then I\'m keeping my engine pretty much stock.
Montego Blue 94 R2 FD3S... Bling not included.

2mm 2 piece are fine on any FD. Guys downunder run 8\'s on Mazda 2pc seals.
