Hi folks, recently picked up my new rx from liverpool to find nothing stolen but my pillar housing hanging off (someone couldnt resist i suppose) The boost gauge just sits between 1.5 and 2.0 whether the engine i running or not. I have included pics to help. pic01 shows the gauge with the car idling at the dealers before shipping. pic02 and pic03 show the gauges as they are at the moment with engine off. my question is, is this fixable and if so how? i did search the forum but couldnt find what i was looking for. I have a few other questions if someone can help. will a blitz spec nur exhaust get thru mot?
i have also included a pic of my engine bay to see if anyone can spot not so obvious mods (other than dump valve) there is an ebs4 on there also, i know what its for just not how it works, so help there would be spot on, and finally an autospark mentioned that its very possible the engine is chipped due to the boost controller being there, is that the case?

basically im trying to suss out if the car is running standard boost, etc.  as id prefer that personally.  im planning reliability mods more so than performance.

thanks in advance for any and all help mates.

hmm i dont know if it is or isnt fixable im afraid, however!!

Jimjitsu does have a boost gauge possibly for sale, you might beable to convince him to part ways with it ;)

Dunno about the gauge i\'m afraid mate. But the main concern for the MOT is whether the car stil has the CAT on or not. If it does & is in ok condition then the make/model of backbox shouldn\'t make any differance really!
If it hasn\'t got a CAt then you\'ll struggle to pass the emissions test (although mine did, with no CAT & Nur spec)
As far as being "chipped". RX7\'s as far as i know are never usually chipped in the normal sense. Instead it will have a replacement ECU (apexi powerFC being a good one). Best way to check is to take off the plastic panel in the passenger footwell, left hand side (where the flare holder is).
You ECU is behing there, have a look at it & see if it\'s got any markings or company names written on it! Post up what it says and we should be able to tell you if it\'s a standard ECU or not!
Hope this helps!

Is it electrical or mechanical?? If it\'s electrical, then it\'s possible that the sensor has packed up for some reason.... but if it\'s mechanical then you might have lost the pipe from the engine or some thing daft!! my first move would be to replace the pipe & see if that solves the problem.

Another thing you could try... take out the gauge and tap the side of the casing with the handle of a screwdriver & see if the needle drops (returing to 0 idealy) as you may find the gauge has simplley stuck at that point.
