Hi,
Just got my car in a position to start, however it wouldnt start because it was flooded. Cleaned it all out but now it\'ll only start if I hold the throttle open full?

I\'ve got a few other idle problems, mainly the revs dropping or stalling when I\'m coming to a stop with the clutch in, going to bleed to clutch cylinders and adjust the pedal incase the clutch is dragging the revs down.
Seems to hold at 750 ok when stopped in neutral though. (might raise it because its a little low for the street port?)

My other concern is that it the warning buzzer comes on after 5 mins or so of running/driving, the warning cluster only shows the exh temp and the one to the right of it illuminated?

Brett

Exhuast temp?  Is it a UK car or a japanese one?

If the warnign is coming on I would advise you check all the levels, as they only come on with low oil/water or at the red line.

So it will not start at all with your foot off of the throttle?

thanks for the reply, quick update;
It started normally this morning.. guess it was just a little flooded yesterday from when I started it before.
Still got pretty bad idle problems, quite a bit of hunting and it died after running for a couple of minutes this morning. gonna check the TPS etc when I get a chance.
Its a JAP car btw, I noticed the exhaust heat sensor wasnt there like it is in the uk shell, there isnt even a hole for it, just two screws.

Also, I have been gradually topping up the coolant level when needed over the past two days of running it.

Brett

Have you checked the plugs are ok? A knackered set of plugs will give you all sorts of problems.

I dont think all the gen 2\'s had the heat sensors, think this is located under the passenger seat. Also there is no hole for it, they just sit flush on the floor and pick the heat up that way. (well on the 3 of mine anyway and thats jap and UK versions)  I\'ll always recommend a set of new plugs as I fell in that trap and the plugs fitted were even new items!!!  If it starts fine from cold then looking at either something affecting it when its hot.  resistance changes with temp and a dodgy wire just might be the cause.
