When upgrading a 1993 UK spec RX7 FD with a newer Efini Y-Pipe assembly and binning the original standard one... what parts do you actually need? The crossover pipe and Y-Pipe and use other existing parts? Or do you need more?

Which part actually increases flow? The Y section?

Can you also use all original fixtures and fittings?

Straight forward swap?

Also what power gains are to be expected?

Just want to plan ahead.

Thanks all.
Kyle.

You will need the \'Y\' pipe and the crossover pipe.  The ones you are getting rid off are joined with two jubilee clips - the 99 spec efini y pipe bolts in 2 places at the y pipe and crossover.

The Y pipe itself has the improved airflow.

Thanks for that guys...

What do you guys think to the gains you had fitting the Efini parts over the original? Noticable difference? Or BS?

id say its more reliable as  it wont split, plus it cn be polished up n looks great lol.. doubt you`l feel any difference to be honest, but this onlong with a few other mods shud make a diference bud

The 99spec ran more boost as standard.  This was due to a re-design on the rear scilencer internals and the Y pipe.  It should help but I guess you will only see a difference in the graph from a dyno.  More importantly it wont crack and is bolted together.
