Guy\'s My new project FD3 has a gaping hole in the dash where a radio once was! I have a double din unit to fit in.. I think it\'s from a skyline and has a cage/bracket bolted to it.. Can someone post a picture of how this should fit into the RX-7? I was assuming it would bolt in in a similar manner but I cannot figure where it would fix to and there appears to be nothing to support a normal type cage? Possibly I have something missing in my dash? A picture of how the slot should look would be very helpful and some kind of instruction or picture to show how the radio is fitted would be great.
Thank you

I seem to remember my original double D was held in by a combination of the plastic facia itself, and a stud in the recess where the back of the head unit would go. Not sure how its supposed to be fitted though, when I fitted a new cage I just ignored the old set up, and fitte dthe cage to teh recess using the bend - over tangs to hold it snug.

Ohh!

So they fit in with a standard type cage? Not a bolt in jobby like most jap stuff which means you have to take the dash apart to get the radio out!!

Good Start! Thank you mate.

I have just installed a double din unit, but it was new and came with the metal cage. I\'ve seen a bunch of fascia adaptors for various cars online that allow for people with OEM units to swap out to a double-DIN, most of them seem to come with a metal cage as part of the package, but you\'ll end up throwing away the plastic bit. //www.caraudiosecurity.com is usually pretty good.
