On the way bk from Trax had a play wih a few cars and my car doesnt tend to stop too well lol, ive uprated the power to around 400bhp @ flywheel, its currently got grooved disks, unsure on make was on the car when i got it, and has standard pads on front and ebc red on rear.

Ive already got some hawk pads that ive heard are very good but noisy and make alot of dust but im not too worried bout that, then ive been looking at getting some Bremob grooved and drilled disks.  Do you think that setup would do the job or so i really need to look at getting bigger brakes??

Fish

Just go for grooved discs, drilled will just crack quickly.

so do u reckon the slotted ones on here wil do the job??

What other good disks are recommended?

I went around trax yesterday with no problems using standard disks and ferodo ds2500 pads all round even with hard use i never had a problem, they worked when i needed em and i believe this is a good budget setup!

If the fluid has never been changed, i would do it. It should be changed every 2 years really. Do the cutch at the same time. Get an eezibleed kit and do it yourself! It takes about half hour on your own. It made a massive difference to mine

nikp

It\'s almost certainly down to fluid requiring a change. (Which reminds me, i should probably do mine!)

Here, have a read of this. Some pretty good information on why fluid should be changed http://www.babcox.com/editorial/bf/bf40142.htm

If you want to DIY, you can just about bleed the back brakes with the wheels on, but i found the front wheels had to come off to get to the bleed nipples. All you need is the easybleed and an 8mm ring spanner. A common mistake folks make, is to pump the brake pedal down to the floor. Dont\' do this because crud deposits at the end of the master cylinder, and if the rubber seal picks this up, it can damage it meaning NO BRAKES!! The brake pedal dont normally go down that far and if you make it go down to the floor, you can possibly cause a huge headache down the road!

cheers sounds like i should try bleeding the brakes first then, then im going to fit the hawk pads aswell.  It has grooved disks already on it so they should easily do the job.

I probably wont do it in the next couple of weeks but once ive done it i will let you know what the difference is.

Cheers :Thumbsup!
