Fixed!!!! Pics and description posted for reference.

All to do with the crank angle sensor! It\'s obviously been buckled quite badly at some point. See pics below.
The little tab should point straight out from the centre, and be completely flat with the disc.
Notice the damage to the pickup as well, as it\'s obviously been hit and the metal can has been deformed.

Cool! Nice to see you have finally sorted it. Why did you decide to look down there for the issue?

Cheers. I\'m kinda glad you asked that question... I printed out the entire fuel and emission section of the 94 manual, and went through it page by page. I didn\'t carry out all the test operations - only the ones I thought might be related to my problem.
What caught my eye was the section on CAS, and how it descibes that the gap between wheel and pickup has to be quite precise.
The moment I took a good look at it I knew something wasn\'t right. Real pity I didn\'t see it sooner, although the tuner I took it to didn\'t pick it up either in the time it was there, so I don\'t feel too bad about it. I\'m just glad it\'s working now! Just got it taxed for the first time since buying it, so I\'m off for my first drive. :3gears-rh :burnout
