over boosting

hi
my boost some times makes 0.4 then next day full boost 0.8 :)  and today it was over boosting going in the red, car did not like it :eek:
y would it be over boosting, boost was set on the lowest setting on boost control
can any body help

might have a split pipe or a broken check valve
