Well the single turbo conversion has been completed.....

A greddy t78, external wastegate, FRP, Wallb 255 fuel pump, 4 x 850 injectors, double throttle removed as well as the hot start, the whole 9 yards....

So it\'s had a base map in it, able to drive it carefully.....so off to get it mapped.

Two questions....there is a tiny oil leak...nothing major but obviously, leaks are bad......any obvious places to check? Could it be from the oil return pipe on the turbo?

The second question is obviously I have to drive off boost.....when I picked it up though at about 3k 1/4 throttle there was a backfire which I took as over fueling....but it continued to drive fine, so i don\'t think i\'ve blown anything?

Probably just worrying as you hear so many horror stories....
any calming comments would be welcomed!!

scratchies

you should take care of that oil leak asap coz of the amount that goes though the the turbo it will only get worse

Ok but i\'m not sure if it is infact coming from the turbo....when I take it to get mapped i\'m going to get them to have a look over it....probably the best way and they would probably be able to find the fault better than I can....

It only happens once the car has warmed up/been run?
It doesn\'t happen when the car is idling....

Not sure yet....why?

I was under the impession that once the single conversion was done, there were only so many leaking points?

Like the blanking plates, oil return pipe n the turbo etc?
Is there a basic list of where to look? :cheers

i have a leak on my engine as well, but havent had a chance to have it checked out.
Have you got any oil temp/pressure gauges? if so, the sandwich plate is the first weak point i think.

No not yet.....on the top of the turbo the connection of the oil return pipe seemed to have fresh oil on it...so I took it that was where the leak was, it slowly dripped down and the pool was directly in the middle on the engine bay (on the floor)

Oh well....I\'ll just be sure to keep it topped up and see if they can spot the point....
