Heat light/running on

Just been to fill up with petrol, took the key out and engine kept runnig, but went off after a minute when i pulled up the hand brake no turbo timer in use, got home then heat light came on after i turned ignition off, any ideas.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself...
But i can always do with some help now due to, my advancing years!
