hi guys, I hope you can help. I am currently swapping my shagged twins for a nice new Greddy T88 kit. I have just test fitted the turbo and have noticed that it sits really close to the hard water pipe. I have attached a photo below. Do I need to move this pipe or can I get away with some heat sheilding? Also any other advice from anyone who has done this before about what to do or look out for would be really usefull. Thanks

I had a T78 that came really close to the water pipe and all the pipe had over it was a tiny bit of material heat shield. Never seemed to cause a problem, although when I owned it it only pushed a safe 280rwhp so it never got worked particularly hard.
I\'m some of the big power boys can tell you if you need to move it. :)

I\'ve just lifted it up a bit on mine with some gentle persuasion and attatched the bracket to one of the 2 holes you can see just above it.
That should give you some extra clearance, although you may need to replace the rubber hose that is connected to it with a slightly longer length.

i have a T60 on the same manifold as you and its f*cking close!! your turbo is considerably bigger. when its done just biy a turbo beenie or heat wrap is it is too close!

i removed the pipe and ran it the other way around the bay as my tub front cover wouldnt go on.

Same here. If you\'re taking out your air-con there\'s loads of room to run a pipe up that side of the engine.

Thanks everyone, I think i am going to try to move it up first and if I get a problem with it i\'ll run it round the aircon side.

I\'ve just test fitted the turbo and the pipe prevents the turbo from sitting on the manifold properly so I had to take it out. Does anyone have a photo of how they routed the pipe? Did you just use a long water pipe Matt?

Yep, just a length of coolant hose. Accross the front of the engine and then up the passenger side to the bulkhead.
