Have a 1994 RX with 40000 on the clock. rebuild 4000 miles ago. T60 turbo, 850 injectors, apexi power fc and commander, HKS intercooler, K and N airfilter.
Turned the boost up but over 1.0 bar it starts to judder and the power delivery isnt smooth. do i need a new set of plugs?
if not what is the issue?
if so do i need irridiums?
where is the best place to get them and what price
cheers

Perhaps, when were they last changed ??? Go for the 10\'s all round or 10\'s and 11\'s,

You can source plugs from some of the advertisers here bud :Party

cheers for that. as for when were they last changed? i dont know as bought the car  how it was - so im guessing 4000 miles ago.

Go for the platinum NGK 11\'s, pip sells em i paid £120 inc vat for the 4 and it cleared up my top end big time, they made the ride very smooth a well worth buy imho

cheers m8. out of interest what boost can i run with these?  I found that to get a good top end  - 160 etc (not that i did that on the road lol) i had to turn the boost down to 0.8 bar. with these can i run 1.0?
also what shop were they in
cheers m8

im not 100% on how much boost can be run with these but my car was still running fine at 1 bar in the high rpm range, best to check with pip.
give WGT a call he should beable to help you out

dont just change the plugs ..try and isolate the problem.....most likely ignition break up...but could be other things....has it been mapped for higher boost?

you might need an ignition amp.

With the set up you have you should be O/K with 9\'s all round unless you have a mapping issue if you want a set of 9\'s we supply for £42.07 delivered.

http://www.ekmpowershop3.com/ekmps/shops/cliveh/index.asp?function=CART&mode=UPDATE&id=1&qty=4

We can supply 10.5\'s with 11\'s now discontinued, but as John says these are silly money at £32.45plus Vat each.

at £100 i might as well change them, that way i know they r ok.  i had an ignition amp on my last RX apexi twin power. this one doesnt have one. but i was told by RGS that an ignition amp doesnt actually do that much.... just takes load off the ecu.

i would first ensure its mapped to that boost as it may just be runnning out of fuel as its not mapped to that boost.

with the risk of pointing out the obvious you cant simply crank it up without adjusting or accounting for all the other factors.

Pay for iridiums if you want but NGK EGV\'s will do the same job at a fraction of the price. A lot of the big power Aussie motors are using these without issues, i\'ve been using them for two years with no problem.

What Kev said. B10EGV would be a good starter. You\'ll need a thin-ish walled socket though.

Hi Jamie,

Are you sure it\'s mapped properly?
